Mark Mazower is a professor in the History Department. When he was hired away from the University of London, it was considered a coup. His specialities are the history of modern Europe, particularly modern Greece. He also runs the history program's new MA program in International History, run jointly with LSE.

He rarely teaches classes other than History of Greece and maybe something about the Balkans, but comes out with an award winning book every few years or so (one of which, Hitler's Empire, was a Trilling Award recipient), and is a somewhat prolific man of letters in the British press.
