Frederick Van Pelt Bryan CC '25 Law '28 was a US federal judge sitting on the US District Court for the Southern District of New York from 1956 to 1978. He is perhaps best known for his opinion stating that Lady Chatterly's Lover was not obscene due to its redeeming literary value.
Bryan was valedictorian of his college class.
