George Templeton Strong CC 1838 was a New York attorney who practiced at what is now the firm of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft. He is known for his long diary and its accounts of 19th century events. As such, Strong is something like a 19th century American Samuel Pepys.
His father-in-law, Samuel Ruggles, was an influential Columbia trustee, and in 1853, Strong himself was elected a Columbia trustee as well.
