Park in the middle of Greenwich Village, centered on the Washington Memorial Arch, a monument that looks a lot like the Arc de Triomphe. The park is NYU's front equivalent of Columbia's South Lawn, except that as a public park, NYU kids share it with (in increasing numbers) hipsters, aging hippies, drug dealers, and the homeless. The NYPD maintains menacing "command post" vehicles around the perimeter.
