Most students think that Carne is relatively expensive. Burgers start at $10, and most main courses are $15 to $25. However, it's probably one of the best restaurants around Morningside Heights. It's a good place to go to with your parents.
As well as burgers, the menu also offers salads, pasta, fish, and lots of meat dishes. There's everything from venison to chicken to 4 or 5 types of steak. It's got frequent drink specials and is anxious to bring Columbia students a few blocks south to boost their weekend business-so don't be afraid to tell them that you're from uptown and would like a little something special to tell your friends about. Also, soft drinks come with free refills.
As for the decor, it's got an austere, modern motif that makes you and your wallet feel like you're in a hipper part of the city than you really are, which can be nice from time to time.
