Casa Murano is a small house in Venice, Italy being developed into the Columbia Study Center in Venice. Originally the home and library of Italian art historian Michaelangelo Murano, its development into a Columbia facility has been facilitated by art history professor David Rosand. Columbia plans to turn Casa Murano into its Italian equivalent of what Paris study abroad facility, Reid Hall, was until recently, when it was transformed into the much more grandiose "Columbia Global Center | Europe". As such, Casa Murano will remain one of the few Columbia properties abroad not converted into a Global Center.
