Salutatorian
A Salutatorian, typically judged to be the second most worthy degree candidate in his or her school's respective graduating class by GPA and other measures, and, at least at Columbia College, gives the speech at Class Day, rather than the Valedictorian. A possible explanation for this may be that often the Valedictorian is just too much of a nerd, or more likely, it could be because Columbia College makes no academic distinction between the Salutatorian and the Valedictorian.
