Eric Schoenfeld
Eric Schoenfeld
Eric Schoenfeld is a rising senior majoring in Mathematics and Philosophy.
Upbringing
Eric Schoenfeld hails from the rural tundra of Minnesota.
Philosophy
In his discussion with Rajiv Sicora and Alonzo, Eric has shown a tendency towards Skepticisim.
Eric is currently taken by Kant's Critique of Pure Reason after studying it for a semester. He plans to study Wittgenstein over the summer.
Music
Eric, along with Rajiv, is a lead member of the defunct band The Sexy Pirates. This Minnesotta based band recorded two albums, Goodbye to Those Who Won't Be Back (which may still be available at Kim's Videos) and a yet unreleased album tentatively titled Sam the Man at the Trianon Ballroom. The band's style has been described as "a funky sorta new kind of Beatles."
The band dissolved in 2006 after completing Sam the Man, collaboration with the other members no longer tenable. However, Eric and Rajiv continue to write music and work together, with a third album in distant sight when Rajiv comes back from Lyon, France.
Alonzo, a friend of both band members, plans to write a commentary on the lyrics of the two albums in the style of Nabokov's Pale Fire. This project, like everything else on Alonzo's aesthetic to-do list, will probably never bear fruit.
Activities and Miscellanea
Eric participates in mock trial. He frequently presents closing arguments for the defense.
His miscellaneous interests include local history and photography with disposable cameras. He actively maintains a collection of ceramic purchased at local flea markets. He is also notorious for the "big girls" who love him.
