The New Student Orientation Program takes up your first week at Columbia. The NSOP 2007 program has not yet been determined, but is likely to include events like the following:
- BlaZe
- Academic Resources Fair
- Brooklyn Aquarium
- New York Waterway Cruise
- Open Mic Night
- Concert in Roone Arledge Auditorium
- Lerner Party
- Movie Night
NSOP once included an event called "CUnity," which involved rotating small social circles and theoretically meeting lots of people. After the organizers realized no one really made lasting friendships this way, it was eschewed.
