Speech code

Columbia has speech codes that are deemed by the civil liberties group FIRE to be anti-free speech. FIRE identifies anti-free speech elements in the following Columbia policies or publications:

• Sexual Harassment Policy
• Policy Statement on Discrimination and Sexual Harassment
• Acceptable Use Policy
• First-Year Schedule Book: Diversity Program
• The Union of Student Organizations: Criteria for Membership in the USO
