Baker Blast celebrates the first home game of the football season (as distinguished from Homecoming, the first home game against an Ivy League opponent]]. The Athletics Department provides free shirts and booze to students (though said booze is not allowed inside Wien Stadium). Columbia usually wins this game as its always against a nonconference whipping boy (like Fordham, every other year).
