The Columbia University Medical Center, located on 20 acres in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan, is home to Columbia's medical schools and research facilities. Formerly known as Columbia University Health Sciences.
The Medical center is affiliated with Presbyterian Hospital, and when the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center opened on October 12, 1928, it was among the first comprehensive University Medical center's in the country.
The land on which the center is built includes the former site of the New York Highlander's stadium. They went on to become the Yankees.
