Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a white Los Angeles actor who attended GS for a 5-year bachelor of music from 2001 to 2004. Best known for starring in the 1996 sitcom Third Rock from the Sun, Gordon-Levitt is now an indie film staple. "Bogart" is his uncle's surname. He starred in the 1999 film 10 Things I Hate About You with Julia Stiles in their junior-senior year of high school before either was enrolled at Columbia. He had only two years of secondary school with LAUSD District One. While at Columbia, the only school he even applied to, he studied history, literature, and French, becoming a professed Francophile and acknowledging that his time at the university helped him to mature as a person. Nevertheless, he dropped out of the College and joined GS as soon as the acting bug struck him with the 2005 Brick film.

Lately, he's been on campus filming Premium Rush, "an action story set in New York City, where a bike messenger picks up a package at Columbia University and subsequently catches the attention of a dirty cop".
