An LLB was a degree issued by law schools up until the 1970s. It is technically a bachelors degree in law, even though law has been a wholly graduate discipline in the US since at least the turn of the 20th century. The degree was replaced with the JD in order to give law school graduates the feeling they had completed a "terminal" doctorate on par with an MD.
