Mahmood Mamdani
Mahmood Mamdani is the Herbert Lehman Professor of Government in the Departments of Anthropology and Political Science. He also holds an appointment at SIPA, and is the former Director of the Institute of African Studies.
His wife is director and film professor Mira Nair.
