Nobility and Civility is the common title for a series of interdisciplinary general education colloquia that take place among senior Columbia faculty members and students. The format of the colloquia is a discussion; its purpose is to investigate the meaning of the eponymous terms "nobility" and "civility" as they relate to a number of literary and philosophical works from European and Asian civilizations alike.

At given times, the faculty of Nobility and Civility has included William Theodore de Bary, J. W. Smit, Richard Bulliet, James Mirollo, and others.
