John Woolsey
John M. Woolsey Law 1901 was a federal court judge. He was the founding editor in chief of the Columbia Law Review, and presided over the decision to allow the publication of James Joyce's Ulysses in the US, which had been considered obscene. Random House chief and Columbia College alum Bennett Cerf printed the decision in all copies of Ulysses distributed by his firm, making it the most widely distrubuted judicial opinion in history.
