Category talk:Alumni by class
Should we throw grad students in here too? Different schools speak of "classes", though not all, and it seems odd to lump them in with the otherwise more coherent undergraduate classes. Aim to subcategorize in the future? Pacman 10:30, 30 November 2007 (EST)
- I would say yes, just throw in everyone. That way if you're looking for someone who graduated from a particular school, you can look in the "alumni by school" category, whereas if you know the date, you can look in "alumni by class". Otherwise we'd have too many subcategories and information will become too hard to find. Imagine this... if you only count 100 years worth of graduates, multiplied by say 5 schools, then you already have 500 categories. − Reaganaut 12:31, 30 November 2007 (EST)
- Also, with subcategories we risk having duplication of one hierarchy within another category. (Like having all the departments duplicated under "former professors".) − Reaganaut 12:32, 30 November 2007 (EST)
