The Ad Hoc Faculty Group comprised faculty members who sought to mediate between radical students and the obstiate administration during the 1968 protests. William Theodore de Bary was among them. The group was ultimately unsuccessful despite several compromise proposals and appeals for direct intervention to none other than the mayor, John Lindsay.
