Bethany Lynn Carkhuff (born June 24, 1985) is an American celebutante, singer, actress, model, and socialite, and a Columbia University campus character.

She came into the public spotlight by turning down a role on the fourth season of the reality show, The Simple Life. She has appeared made appearances as herself in many benefits in the New York City area and televsion awards shows, most notably the MTV Video Music Awards. Her family came into wealth via affiliation through Formosa Plastics, owned by the Taiwanese Wang family. Her name became common on the Columbia University campus through social networking sites such as boredatbutler.com, boredatcolumbia.net, and juicycampus.com. Due to the subsequent notoriety and threats made on such sites, the University was prompted to monitor Carkhuff by campus security for safety. She now lives off campus. Carkhuff is a Philosophy and Math major, although she entered Columbia College in 2003 and was a member of the 2003 Student Council that year, she is still currently attending because of a medical leave absence and her exact year of graduation is unknown.
