Elliott Hall
Elliott is a Barnard residence hall located on the corner of 119th Street and Claremont Avenue, right next to Columbia's 47 Claremont residence hall. In fact, the two buildings share an airshaft, leading to some awkward moments for those Barnard girls accustomed to the gender-singularity of the Quad.
History
Elliott Hall was dedicated in honor of the service of Eleanor Thomas Elliott '48 to Barnard.
Facilities
Elliott has 4 residential floors, each with 2 suites. Rooms and hallways are carpeted.
Each suite is comprised of 8 singles and 2 doubles (12 students) and share a community bathroom and kitchen. The 2 suites on each floor share a study lounge.
The kitchens provide sinks, stoves, and cabinet space, but do not have refrigerators. Students must provide (or rent) their own minifridges, which may be kept in special designed alcoves in each room.
Career Development is located on the 2nd floor and the Office of Management Information and Network Services (MINS) is located on the lower level.
