Mark Taylor is the head of the Religion Department, having joined the faculty as a full-time professor in 2007. Taylor was the first foreigner to be awarded a doctorate from the University of Copenhagen, and was once a friend of the late Jacques Derrida. Recently, he has become known for advocating the breakup of the traditional university and the creation of departments to tackle problems like the water crisis.
