Notre Dame (pronounced "Note-ruh Dahm") is a beautiful gothic cathedral in Paris, inexplicably upstaged in Art Hum by the perhaps equally majestic but much less famous w:Cathedral of Amiens.

The University of Notre Dame (mispronounced "Norter Daym") is a papist seminary in flyover country. It has an inexplicably popular football team, and a pugnacious ethnic stereotype for a mascot. Some of its affiliates have problems with Barack Obama.
