Notre Dame (pronounced "Note-ruh Dahm") is a beautiful gothic cathedral in Paris, inexplicably upstaged in Art Hum by the perhaps equally majestic but much less famous Cathedral of Amiens.

The University of Notre Dame (mispronounced "Norter Daym") is a papist seminary in flyover country. It has an inexplicably popular football team, and a pugnacious ethnic stereotype for a mascot. Some of its affiliates have problems with Barack Obama.
