In the early 1990s, Columbia and other schools with scramble bands were seriously considering either switching to standard marching bands, or getting rid of marching bands altogether, thanks to a series of particularly lewd and shocking performances. Even today, the Marching Band has incentive to censor itself because it is under constant threat of being eliminated in favor of a standard band. So the paragraph about turning into a fascist marching band is not out-of-place here. Nateoxford 14:55, 29 May 2009 (EDT)
