Marcie Jaffee CC'07 graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry. She graduated cum laude and with Biology Department Honors for her senior research thesis.

She worked at the Rare Books and Manuscripts Library and for the Office of the Chaplain on her work-study grant throughout college. She was a teaching assistant for General Chemistry Laboratory and a tutor for Introductory Biology. She participated in the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program where she spent a summer and two semesters working in the lab of Dan Kalderon.[1] There, she sent many unwilling fruit flies to their mass grave at the bottom of an ethanol bottle, but also found her calling as a researcher in science.

Marcie grew up on a small dairy farm in northern Vermont. She currently resides in Cambridge, Massachusetts and attends the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a graduate student in the Imperiali lab.[2]
