The Columbia University Medical Center is the campus of Columbia's medical schools and research facilities. It was formerly known as Columbia University Health Sciences. The campus is located on 20 acres in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan.

The Medical center is affiliated with Presbyterian Hospital, and when the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center opened on October 12, 1928, it was among the first comprehensive University Medical center's in the country.

The land on which the center is built includes the former site of the New York Highlander's stadium. They went on to become the Yankees.

Schools Located at the Med Center:

The Med center comprises half of Columbia's annual operating budget of approximately $2 billion. The med center also employs over 2,000 of Columbia's 3,300 faculty members.
