Director of Undergraduate Studies (often terribly abbreviated DUS) is a title given to an administrator, usually a professor, within a department. All departments within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences as well as Engineering are required to have a Director of Undergraduate Studies. This person is responsible for setting and advertising the requirements for completing undergraduate coursework within that department. In some smaller departments, the director also serves as the major advisor to students majoring in that department.
