Alfred Lerner Hall, with Carman rising in the background

Alfred Lerner Hall is the student center.

It was designed by Bernard Tschumi, and widely criticized for its slanted ramp structures, which are not the most efficient means of moving about within the building and take up vital space.

The stairs in the 'exit' stairwells are the quickest way to navigate Lerner.
