Aries Dela Cruz graduated from Columbia with BA in Anthropology. While at Columbia he was primarily involved with the Spectator and the Queer Alliance. He was a member of the university-level LGBT Steering Committee, as well as on the planning committee for the first three Lavender Graduation Ceremonies. He received a Gold King's Crown Leadership Award, the Dean's Citation and Prize, a Spirit Award and multiple Service Awards. Aries was also awarded the LGBTQ Student Leader Award from CC/SEAS Office of Multicultural Affairs “acknowledging extraordinary commitment and outstanding leadership” at Columbia’s LGBTQ community. He was also a member of the Judicial Committee and the Senior Fund. He chaired a taskforce to integrate GS students into the programs of the Office of Multicultural Affairs. After graduating he founded Advocates for the Arts Initiative. He is also a member of the Recent Alumni Leadership Committee for the School of General Studies.
