Twitter is a social network that's inherently superior to Facebook because:
1. Your entire family isn't on it, inviting you to play Farmville or assaulting you with baby photos.
2. It didn't ever come into conflict with any superior Columbia-originated social networks which it unfairly eclipsed.
Use liberally, but not too liberally that you bring down the fail whale.
