Al Horvath
Al Horvath was Executive Vice President for Finance from 2004 - 2007. During his tenure at Columbia, Horvath developed a five-year capital plan and debt strategy.
Prior to Columbia, Horvath was vice president for business and finance at the California Institute of Technology. Horvath received a B.S. in accounting from Penn State in 1981 and an MBA from Duquesne University in 1985.
It 2007, Columbia's IRS filings indicated that Horvath's salary was $335,516. Horvath was replaced by Anne Sullivan in 2007, and he moved on to Penn State. In 2011, Horvath was named Under Secretary for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer of the Smithsonian.
