Erik Gray is a professor of English. He is a professor of Victorian poetry and a Cambridge man, known for breaking out into full classic declamatory verse when he reads poetry. He is the genuine article.

There is an urban legend that he has a tattoo of Percey Shelley on his chest, affectionately nicknamed the "Shelley Belly" among grad students. He has been spotted at Westside Market and wearing delightful Christmas sweaters.
