April 23
On April 23...
- 1968 - The beginning of the 1968 protests. SDS holds a demonstration in favor of activists Mark Rudd and his associates, the "IDA Six", who had been placed on probation the previous day. By invoking the construction of the Morningside Park gym, they hope to attract the SAS to their own causes. Protesters attempt a march on Low Library and are rebuffed and move on to the gym site in Morningside Park. Students end the day by occupying Hamilton Hall and imprisoning Dean Henry Coleman.
- 2013 - Prospies place their admissions essays in a public Google Drive; Gawker and IvyGate publish and mock them.
