Bari Weiss CC '07 was founding editor in chief of The Current. She is very pro-Israel.

In the wake of the allegations of the 2004 film Columbia Unbecoming that Jewish students were being intimidated by professors in the MEALAC department, she and several other students founded a group, Columbians for Academic Freedom, to serve as an advocate for such students. Later, she became a vocal critic of tenure for Barnard anthropologist Nadia Abu El-Haj.

She is currently an associate opinion editor for the Wall Street Journal. She has also written for Tablet Magazine.

In June 2013, she married Jason Kass, the founder of Toilets for People.[1]
