John Reeves
John Reeves TC '83 was Athletic Director at Columbia for 13 years. During his tenure he oversaw the renovation of several facilities including Dodge Fitness Center.
Accomplishments and athletic highlights during his tenure included the complete renovation of Dodge, the 1996 football team's second place finish in the Ivy League (its 8-2 mark was the best in over 50 years), the 2002 men's basketball team weekend sweep of Princeton-Penn (the first time in 15 years), Olympian Christina Teuscher CC '00 committing to swim for the Lions, and back to back NCAA titles for the fencing team in 1992 and 1993.
Lowlights included the 2002-2003 Basketball and Football seasons when both teams went a combined 0-21 in Ivy League games, resulting in the firing of both coaches, and his failure to secure funding and space for three planned new athletic facilities.
