MyColumbia is Columbia's largely useless portal. In March of 2002, AIS (Administrative Information Systems) launched a pilot of MyColumbia, a portal based on the uPortal code. MyColumbia officially launched 2 years later in September 2004 as part of AIS's new human resources and payroll application People@Columbia, an administrative system. Total impact on students in the last 5 years? None. The website offers no services to students except those employed by Columbia in work-study or non-work-study positions - they can look up their latest paycheck amount.

An example of another uPortal based sites is Yaleinfo. An example of a non-uPortal based portal is PennPortal.
