Monique Rinere was the current Dean of Advising from 2009 to 2015, overseeing the Center for Student Advising. She was brought on by Dean of Student Affairs Kevin Shollenberger in 2009 to oversee the new conglomerate office that was created when FYSAAC, JSAC, and the other advising offices (such as the Columbia Undergraduate Scholars Program) were combined.

Prior to her time at Columbia, she also revamped advising at Harvard and Princeton.
