Toni Airaksinen, BC 18, is most well known for her involvement in the Columbia University First-Generation Low-Income Partnership (FLIP). During her tenure with FLIP, she managed to garner national media coverage for her efforts. The creation of Class Confessions, and the FLIP Microfund is often attributed to her. She left FLIP in the Fall of 2015, under unknown circumstances.

In the Fall of 2015, she launched a campaign including a petition demanding that Barnard College provide free winter housing to students in need (for example, housing-insecure, low-income, and international students). The petition was successful, as, after a week, President Spar sent out an email to the student body essentially giving into all of the demands of the petition.

She also works on the revival of The Columbia Lion.
