Goldsmith also exhibits a degree of striation...
what does striation mean? Nonsensical 03:45, 10 May 2007 (EDT)

Apparently:

  • S: (n) stria, striation (any of a number of tiny parallel grooves such as: the scratches left by a glacier on rocks or the streaks or ridges in muscle tissue)
  • S: (n) band, banding, stria, striation (a stripe or stripes of contrasting color) "chromosomes exhibit characteristic bands"; "the black and yellow banding of bees and wasps"

Yeah, I looked it up too. After seeing the definition I read and now the one you posted, I'm still confused. Does it mean the same as "segregated"? Can we just say "segregated"? Nonsensical 11:25, 10 May 2007 (EDT)

I think the original author was trying to say that the residence hall doesn't show enough sensitivity to student needs. So maybe "insensitivity" is the right word.  − Reaganaut  12:24, 10 May 2007 (EDT)
