Robert R. Livingston is an alumnus of Columbia College. Wallach Hall was originally named Livingston Hall after him.

The guy played an active part in the American Revolution and the Constitutional Convention.

He would go onto a notable career after his King's days, and eventually served as Chancellor of New York. Under President Jefferson, he would negotiate and then secure the Louisiana Purchase.
