A space that embraces individual difference, sustains inclusion, and cultivates a campus that is free from bias. A safe space is an avenue in which faculty, staff, and students can help achieve these goals. A safe space serves students through advocacy, community building, and education.

Recent protesters like SHOCC have demanded the creation of safe spaces. Safe from critical thinking, apparently. The concept of "safe spaces" is absurd because their creation automatically implies that everywhere else is unsafe. And in any case, how would safe space users prevent invasion by someone like Chris Kulawik.
