Head of the Fellowships Office, he has almost singlehandedly revitalized Columbia's performance on prestigious scholarships like the Marshall and the Fulbright (although he has yet to produce a Rhodes win).

"Pip" was once on the Fulbright board for Oceania/South Pacific.

He is one of the most helpful, friendly administrators Columbia has.
