2024 in Columbia History:
- April: The Gaza Solidarity Encampment protests erupt and are suppressed by the NYPD twice, the second time after an occupation of Hamilton Hall
- May: University Commencement is canceled as a result of the protests and the subsequent sealing off of the Morningside Heights campus. Class Days are relocated to the Baker Athletic Complex.
- August 14: Minouche Shafik resigns as University President in the wake of the protest controversy
