Alphonse Falise
Alphonse Falise was the Head Security Chief at Columbia from 1948 to 1959. A veteran of both World Wars, [1] Falise was known for his strict enforcement of all rules. For example, he once kicked out 83 diners from John Jay "who had failed to wear coats and ties to dinner"[2] because that's what happened in the 50s. Ten years later, Columbia students would plan a drug-fueled near-orgy on the South Field, which shows how much Columbia changed in the 60s. [3]
