Berlin Consortium for German Studies
The Berlin Consortium for German Studies is a Columbia-run study abroad center for American students in Berlin, Germany. The consortium is affiliated with the Free University of Berlin, where students take most classes. Students participating in the consortium's program may stay for a semester or a year, and are initially housed in a hostel, then complete a homestay, and then move into city apartments. The process of finding housing mid-semester has been among the most criticized aspects of the Berlin Consortium program.
