Haim Gaifman

Haim Gaifman is a notoriously intimidating philosophy professor who specializes in mathematical logic. He is infamous for being one of the stiffest graders in the school and surely in the department, as well as for being remarkably, though perhaps unwittingly, insensitive to the egos of his students. Needless to say, if you are interested in small class sizes, Haim Gaifman is the professor for you. The silver lining being that those who do brave his class are rewarded with incisive lectures and personalized criticism. He received his PhD at Berkley in 1962 under the tutelage of one of the greatest logicians of the last century, Alfred Tarski. [1] He is also said to have worked personally with the leading member of the Vienna Circle, Rudolf Carnap. He is Israeli.
