Hyman G. Rickover
Hyman G. Rickover SEAS MS '29(?) was a career naval officer and is generally acknowledged as the "Father of the Nuclear Navy," so called for his foundational contribution to the development of naval nuclear technology. He holds the distinction of being the longest-serving active duty officer in the United States Navy, with 63 years of continuous service.
After graduating from the Naval Academy in 1922 and serving two tours of duty, Rickover attended the School of Mines and earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering. [1]
