Lehman Hall
Lehman Hall is a Barnard College building that houses the Barnard Library.
It should not be mistaken with the Lehman Social Sciences Library, located in the International Affairs Building.
O'Connor & Kilham designed the building, which went up between 1956 and 1957, although the grill on the front was designed by Hungarian "solar consultants" who, the American Institute of Architects notes, "somehow got their north arrow confused," because there is negligible sunlight coming from the direction the grill faces. "They were concerned more with architectural imagery than reality," the AIA conclude.[1]
