M4

The M4 bus takes one from Columbia to attractions along Fifth Avenue on the Upper East Side, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Eventually, it reaches the UN. Taking the M4 may not be faster than taking the subway to a crosstown bus to reach the Upper East Side, but it does involve one less transfer.

It behooves one to remember that when returning to Columbia from the Upper East Side, the bus runs along Madison Avenue.
